25. Does your brand want to give out a discount? Make the act of getting that discount winning by itself!

When the clients want to promote sales or engagements by giving out discounts, the main draw shouldn’t be the discount itself. After all, every brand can give out discounts, and you never want to compete solely on who can give out the best discount. So rather than appeals to people’s logical side with the bigger discount, appeal to their emotional side with the bigger creativity.

 

When the act of getting the discount is inspiring enough, it doesn’t matter if the client can afford a genuinely good discount or what their competitor is offering. Make the process of getting the discount intriguing or enjoyable enough that the actual discount becomes the reward or the badge of honor rather than the only selling point of participation.
