36. Do people have problems taking your problem seriously? Make the it tangible.

If you want people to join your cause in dealing with a problem, people need to see the problem as something big enough for them to take an action. Unfortunately, people won’t remember the dry statistics, and they aren’t good at picturing why a certain number or fact might be worrying.

 

This is where creativity comes in. There are various ways to make the problem tangibly triggering for people who aren’t already invested in the cause. You can give the problem a clear scale by comparing it to something tangible. You can show the tangible result of the problem, or you can tangibly demonstrate the length someone must go to avoid the problem.
